Protein balls are a great thing to have in your fridge or freezer. They are great for breakfast, a side or a snack. They are also super duper easy and versatile. AS always use my recipe as a guideline rather than a commitment and share your versions with me to see!
The combination of flavours in these protein balls makes them super healthy and fillings. They taste sweet and decadent. For anyone not following me on Instagram I would highly recommend you do. My feed is very active with pretty food pictures and the occasional recipe.
200g Rolled Oats
4tbsp Chia Seeds
2tbsp Bioglan Supergreens or Cocoa powder/protein powder
1 Handful Raisins
1tsp Vanilla Extract
7tbsp Golden Syrup or Agave (about 1/2 a cup)
1/2 tbsp Peanut butter or peanut butter powder (optional)
1 large handful of mixed nuts (optional)
Method (Makes 10 -20)
In a blender add all but your syrup and turmeric. Whizz it up good! You should be left with something like this.
Once you have this mixture place it in a bowl. Mix in your turmeric and then start adding in your syrup. I would add a little at a time to make it easier to mix equally.
You may want to take your jewellery off and dig youts hand in. It’s the easiest way to mix it. The mixture should be very sticky and hold it’s shape.
Now all you need to do is mould them in your hands to make balls. They can be as small or large as you like (yes I know that sounds rude). But yeah, it’s up to you what size the protein balls will be. I did some small and some big which made 16 in total.
Once you’ve moulded them all just pop them in the fridge or freezer. For freshness, it’s best to pop them in the freezer and grab them out as you want them as they only take 30mins to defrost.
Have fun with the recipe. You could add coconut, more peanut butter, lemon juice. The options are endless.
Let me know some wonderful combinations you would use for protein ball.
