This is a review of my new Kat Von D Everlasting Liquid Lipstick mini set. I’m in love with these. So many beautiful colours. I do have a few favourites which I will pop at the end of this post after the swatches.
Disclaimer: These swatches were all done with one coat. Obviously, most of them would need two coats but I wanted to show a representation of the true colours and pigmentation. Also, I am not a professional. Oh and I’m not wearing any other makeup in the swatch pictures so I apologise for my terrible skin and 5 o’clock shadow! Lol
The packaging of this product is somewhat gothic on my first look. It;s pretty darn beautiful though and shows the exact colours on the front as what you pretty much get.
Look at all the colours! Aren’t they beautiful? This whole set is very similar to my range of colours that I tend to wear.
This colour is a purple/pink. It goes on nicely with one coat and is slightly less pigmented than some of the colours. It;s a beautiful bright colour without being too neon.
This is a very elegant red/brown tone. It’s somewhat gothic but sexy and elegant at the same time. It’s almost vampiric. Again this went on beautifully with one coat.
This is a very vibrant peachy red colour. A very fun colour for summer I would say but this would definitely be wearable all year round. Such as Christmas according to the name. One coat works well with this colour.
This is a beautiful pink nude shade that is a little brighter than my natural lip colour. I love how well this one goes on and it would be an easy one to wear all year round.
This is a purple/pink shade. More purple though. As you can see it’s not as pigmented as the others and would definitely need two coats, possibly three. it’s a very pretty colour and would be perfect for an evening out or a fun summer look I would say.
This is a perfect shade to fit the title. It’s a very easy to wear a colour that would be perfect to slap on for mothers. It does remind me of the elegant kind of colour you would see a sophisticated mother wearing. It;s truly a beautiful subtle colour.
This is similar to the colour Roxy. It goes on slightly better than Roxy with one coat though but would definitely need two coats at least. Unlike Roxy, this is more the navy side of purple. Quite a dark shade and would be perfect for winter. It can be slightly unforgiving on the lip line though due to the darkness but it’s still a colour I’m likely to wear never the less.
This is such a wonderful colour! Really like this. I generally love pink shaded lipsticks. This is similar to the mother but a vibrant version in my opinion. Good for all year round I would say! Beautiful and goes on well with one coat.
So, overall these lipsticks are beautiful For the darker shades, especially purples/blues I would say it’s necessary to do two-three coats but all the others go on beautifully with just one coat. I would recommend this kit as a good one for all year round with a few more vibrant looks mixed in. It’s a very good palette.
My favourite shades are all of the pinks and the brown shade named Plath. Most days I will be seen wearing pink lipstick and I feel the brown lipstick would be wonderful for more glammed up days.
I would still wear the red as well but I find it makes my skin look a little yellow. The purple shades I’m not as keen on as I would find these more difficult to wear but they are still beautiful colours. As I have already said most of these would look better with two coats so bear that in mind.
Have you had any experience of these lipsticks? What are your favourite colours from my swatches? When would you wear them? Let me know!
