Banana Protein Pancakes – Chocolate Brownie VS Peanut Butter

Today I had a real craving for pancakes. I’m not a big pancake lover generally. I sometimes have them with lemon and sugar on Shrove Tuesday and that’s about it. Today like I said though, I wanted pancakes. Of course, I had to make chocolate ones.

I think you’re going to like this recipe. Minimal ingredients and super quick. Very yummy. These pancakes are fudgy and decadent. You can easily take the chocolate out of these to make a plain pancake to do what you like with as well. Enjoy!

Edit – I used this recipe to create some banana, peanut pancakes. Just follow the recipe but use 1 whole banana and 2tbsp peanut butter and skip the cocoa powder. The syrup is made from a mix of agave syrup and date nectar. 



70g Rolled Oats
30g Cocoa powder or chocolate protein powder
1/2 a ripe banana
1tsp Vanilla Extract
150ml plant milk
1tsp bicarbonate of soda or baking powder
1tbsp Peanut Butter

Optional toppings:
Chocolate syrup or melted chocolate
Peanut Butter

Method (makes 2-3, 1 serving)

Place all the pancake ingredients in a blender and whizz until mixed well.

Your mixture should look somewhat like a smoothie or melted ice cream.

Pour the mixture into your hot pan with a spray oil to avoid sticking.

Cook for 1-2 minutes either side. You know when it’s ready to flip as you can see the texture changing around the edges.

Serve immediately


I get brownie batter vibes from these pancakes. If you add chocolate chips to them they would be the perfect brownies. You could use this recipe as a basis for a brownie mix.
