Washing with Soap Nuts -Everything you need to know

As you may know, if you follow my main account on Instagram, I have recently ventured forth into the world of Soap Nuts and I’m loving it! So, I’m here today to give you the low-down on them. Everything from what they are, the pros and cons and most importantly how to get the most use out of them. What are Soap Nuts? Soap Nuts come from a tree called  ‘Sapindus Mukorossi’ and don’t actually contain any soap whatsoever. You see, Soap Nuts are actually Berries, they’re part of the Lychee family and contain a natural cleaner called ‘Saponin’. Saponin can dig into the fibers on clothes to free dirt,…

Mental Health – Taking control and finding your own therapist – Private VS NHS

First things first, this is through my experience that I can write this post. It’s subjective and therefore is just my opinion. My experience Now, a quick look at what happened to me. when I decided I wanted to look into therapy I went to the Doctors and got put on a super long waiting list (around 18 months I was told). There is such a huge number of people that go down this route. But, I wasn’t comfortable waiting this long and needed help asap so I did some research. I also find that a lot of the time doctors will just pump you full of pills to fix…

Why I don’t have a schedule and why you shouldn’t work to one either.

This is something that I see a lot of bloggers get asked about, as a reader and a follower if you enjoy someone’s content it often becomes a thought in your mind that you wish they posted more often. You wish there was more to read and more to explore but some bloggers, YouTubers etc don’t have a schedule and I’m one of them. Quality VS Quantity If I write what I want, when I want then it’s going to be better quality. I can work on a blog post and get it to the level I want, do more research etc sometimes over the course of a couple of weeks.…

Helpful Sites as a Vegan – The ones you need to know about

When I started out as a Vegan there was quite a few websites and blogs that really helped me along the way to become more familiar and settled in the cruelty-free way of living. Below I have done a list of the websites that really helped me and continue to help me now. I have placed a link to each in the title to make it easier for you to find. This is specific to the UK mainly but Chronometer is a US site and I would assume there would be UK versions of others sites such as the Vegan Womble in other countries. A few of these websites also have Apps such…

    Solitude – What if?

This morning, I popped on YouTube to watch something whilst I was working through my work on the laptop. I happened to come across a documentary done on Solitary Confinement. 5 People were placed in complete solitary confinement for 5 days. Here’s the link if you would like to watch – https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lH6SUTMQ__g&index=2&list=WL&t=0s It was baffling and very interesting. Everyone struggled, it makes you strip back everything that you’re and what is important to you. For some, this was good and others not so much. I have always had a huge interest in psychology, experimentation (the voluntary kind, not animals) and many things along the line of mental health. As you know…

Books and Authors- A few of my favourites and the ones that didn’t hit the mark.

I thought I would discuss some of my favorite books and authors and some that just didn’t hit the mark. It’s something I will be keeping up with in future posts. Due to this being the first, some of these books I’ve not read for a long time, never the less, they still deserve a place on the list. WARNING, there may be spoilers. I have done my best to keep my opinions and comments about each book quite vague in terms of the nitty-gritty details of the stories but some spoilers are unavoidable as a part of the context.  Christina Henry If you enjoy dark storylines, gruesome discoveries and…

    Dressing for mental well being

I never understood how people can follow the latest fashions so easily. How can they go from wearing athletic clothing to XXXXL handbags to 80’s styles in a short time? I basically have the same 10 dresses, leggings and shoes that I wear all year round and most likely change according to the season and what I feel like wearing. Some of my dresses I’ve had for 6 years! Many studies have been done on the correlation between mental health and the clothes you wear. Particularly in Women and young girls. One of which is here. It’s a good read and I do agree 100% that what you wear influences your mental health…

    What makes you feel good?

Often tied in with looking good and doing good in life, which in turn encourages happiness. Feeling good is the start of the butterfly effect. It shapes our life and everything in it. So, I want to know. What makes you feel good? Part of that butterfly effect is positivity. It has a huge impact on helping us to feel good. I recently wrote about positivity being the route of our tree. The start of everything. You can read it here. For some, feeling good comes easier than with others. I’ve really struggled in the past due to my mental health but over the years I’ve really learnt to help myself and…

Vegetarian or Vegan?- Watch out for these ingredients

As you may know, I’ve been Vegan since May 2017 and it’s one of the best decisions I’ve ever made concerning my diet and health. Now, I’m not here to convert everyone because it’s your choice what you eat. However, I think it’s important to be aware of what you’re eating.Something I have noticed recently. People claiming they are Vegetarian, aren’t actually Vegetarian or Pescatarian as they regularly consume dead animals without realising. So, I decided I would create a list of key ingredients to avoid and look out for as both a Vegetarian or a Vegan. This could never be a complete list as there are too many to…
