Diet’s don’t work – How I lose weight the healthy way

Did you know only 5% of people that lose weight by dieting will have kept it off after 5 years? 95% will put the weight back on. That’s a lot, right? So, why spend all that money, time and effort on something that doesn’t work. I’m no saint, I did it as well. I never felt comfortable in my skin and spent years trying to lose the weight with diet pills, fasting, shakes. I would always put the weight back on. I was what some people called a Yo-Yo dieter. That was until a year ago when I turned Vegan and started seeing things in a different light. So, why don’t…

    My Essential Vegan Shopping List

When I went Vegan I went through a steep learning curve. Lot’s of months of trying new products and lots of research. I never had anything to help me along the way and had to learn what I needed on a weekly basis in my shopping basket. So, I have written out a list of what I use most days and what I buy regularly in my shopping. I’m hoping this may help some people or may even just show people that Vegans eat plenty of ‘normal’ foods. But, first a few notes about the list. Disclaimer: Everyone is different. This is just what I buy. I follow a healthy, whole…

May 29th means it’s now been a whole year since I turned Vegan. For me, it was something I had thought about for a while but always considered out of my reach. But, then I did it overnight and realized how easy it was. The biggest push to get me to do it was seeing the cruelty in the industries so I became an ethical Vegan. Since then I’ve had plenty of ups and downs but it’s still one of the best decisions I’ve ever made concerning my health and lifestyle. So, here’s 10 things I’ve learned in my first year as a Vegan. I hope it’s a helpful tool…

Mental Health Awareness Week – Stress

Hello, as you may already be aware, it’s #mentalhealthawarenessweek here in the UK.  It’s something that happens each year and with each year there’s a topic that is the main focus to promote awareness of. This year is ‘Stress’. Now, when I considered what I wanted to write for this post I felt frustrated and at a loss because I don’t feel like I deal with stress very well. It manifests itself in how my body feels a lot of the time and is one of the biggest triggers for my anxiety because to be quite frank we all have a lot of crap going off in our lives and it’s…

The true magic of Aloe Vera

Aloe Vera is a wondrous plant that has been used for more than 6,000 years! The greatest thing about it is that it’s quite easy to grow your own and doesn’t need a whole lot of maintenance. It comes as a whole plant to prep yourself as you wish. You can get gels to soothe onto your skin, drinks to add to your daily diet and numerous products with Aloe Vera added into it such as Shampoo to make your hair…

    Learning to love yourself

Hello! Recently I’ve started working with the ‘Vegan Warrior Academy‘ posting the occasional blog post for them. I’m excited as it allows me to write more in-depth about subjects I wouldn’t necessarily write about here, but, I feel the importance of still writing a little summary and posting the main article in case you want to read it. So, let’s talk about Self Love.  It’s the way you start everything. It’s one of the important roots of the positivity tree. In order to show respect, love, gratitude and all those positive emotions towards another, you also have to consider them for yourself. You have to love yourself and enjoy your own company because you’re…

Mental Health – Taking control and finding your own therapist – Private VS NHS

First things first, this is through my experience that I can write this post. It’s subjective and therefore is just my opinion. My experience Now, a quick look at what happened to me. when I decided I wanted to look into therapy I went to the Doctors and got put on a super long waiting list (around 18 months I was told). There is such a huge number of people that go down this route. But, I wasn’t comfortable waiting this long and needed help asap so I did some research. I also find that a lot of the time doctors will just pump you full of pills to fix…
